For all his life, Executive Chef Antonio Totaro has had an undeniable passion for the culinary arts. He brings with him a wealth of experience that started at the highest Michelin-rated restaurant in Southern-Italy “Don Alfonso - 1890”. This multi-award-winning gourmet getaway was listed by New York Times as "Meals Worth the Price of a Plane Ticket". Strong of this knowledge, he took part of the opening of their first abroad challenge restaurant in Macau. Love for the land, respect for Mediterranean flavors and a focus on innovation are the elements that make the story of Don Alfonso alive. Chef Antonio perpetuates this passion for Italy with unique, refined yet simple dishes.
Chef Antonio’s strong personality and temper took him all the way to Hollywood stars. He cooked, for years, for international names such as Danny DeVito, Mike Tyson, Cindy Crawford and Monica Bellucci. Chef Totaro extended his experience to being a private Chef to billionaires in the Maldives, Monte-Carlo, Moscow and Geneva but also cooked as Executive Chef of the private yacht the “Cristina O.” where politicians and actors acclaimed his creativity and “savoir-faire”.
“Cooking is my life, not only a job” emphasizes Chef Antonio. ”I cook Italian food that keeps the traditions of the cuisine but changes things a little to make it modern. Italian cuisine has a long history and I believe in respecting it. Spasso is a beautiful place with a terrific view and it is one of the busiest restaurants in the Harbor City. I am looking forward to serve Spasso’s guests exclusive and brand new dishes! They will embark a creative journey they won’t forget” says Totaro.
